Telecorp Case Study.

Telecorp has long been a supplier of phone cards and through acquisition had acquired a number of older systems.

In August 2003 Telecorp allowed IVSTEL to replace one such minor acquired system with our new Nova platform.

The change was very cost effective as Nova supported Telecorp's existing Excel Switching Corporation hardware requiring only the software to be changed.

Nova had a number of significant advantages:

Primarily Nova was scalable and could easily be grown by adding new switches and increasing the size of the existing switch.

Nova also supported a large call centre that was located remotely in a low cost and staff friendly area.

Nine months later the IVSTEL Nova system had grown from being a minor replacement system to a major system carrying the majority of Telecorp prepaid phone card traffic.

By mid 2004, Telecorp had become one of Australia's largest prepaid calling card supplier by using the Nova system developed and installed by IVSTEL.

In 2005 Telecorp is now Australia's leading call-card operator with an estimated 40 per cent of the $250 million market. Telstra is the other significant player. Calling cards make up 80 per cent of Telecorp's revenues with sales of more than 300,000 new pre-paid phone cards worth $10 million every month via 30,000 retailers such as Woolworths, 7-Eleven and newsagents. Telecorp has achieved growth of more than 50 per cent for each of the past three years.
