SingTel Optus Case Study.

In 1996, Tandem Computers contracted IVSTEL to supply and provide 24x7 maintenance support for Unix PC based Dialogic Voice Response Units (VRU) for the Optus Bill Payment system. Over the years, IVSTEL has added new VRU’s to the original base while compensating for technology change and continue to this day to provide VRU support.

In 1997, following the successful relationship established with other projects, Tandem Computers contracted IVSTEL to assist in installing and to provide 24x7 maintenance of two Summa Four VCO 80 switches for the Optus Mobile Prepaid Network.

To complement our involvement with Summa Four, IVSTEL in 1998 became a distributor of the VCO product and in 1999 a Cisco Voice Application Partner when Cisco bought the Summa Four company.

In late 1999, IVSTEL was contracted by Compaq, who had acquired Tandem Computers, to upgrade the entire Optus VCO family for year 2000 compliance which was completed successfully within time and on budget.

In 2000, the growing success of Optus Prepaid required Compaq to contract IVSTEL to install another four VCO4K switches in the Optus Mobile Prepaid Network.

In 2002, Compaq (now merged with HP) installed an IN solution for SingTel Optus which replaced the Summa Four VCO switches.
