Nova is the name of the IVSTEL Software that is used to control one or more Open Programmable Carrier Grade Switches.

Nova provides a Central Billing System, Java based Operator Consoles, synchronised SQL databases and an integrated suite of applications that allows Service Providers to offer customers enhanced services such as Pre and Post paid Calling Card and Wholesale Least Cost Routing.

The Service Provider can either sell cards to the end user directly or use Nova to support Virtual Network Operators who sell their branded cards to end users or resellers.

Nova can run on a single Unix SUN server but its distributed architecture allows its various functions to be spread over more than one SUN server as your central site grows.

The Nova system is also scalable by adding new switches or sites to form a Multi Switch Nova System with a central database.

Importantly, you can deploy geographically remote sites with local switching allowing users to roam without the need to ever trunk calls back to the central site.

A Multi Switch Nova System gives you disaster recovery. Each site can run independently should the master be destroyed or the TCP/IP link fails.
