The BX - Bandwidth Exchange Platform is switching and billing software developed by IVSTEL for The Australian Telecoms Exchange ATX that allows carriers to offer voice and data bandwidth to the market for sale. Both carriers and Service Providers connect to the BX system and dynamically negotiate the daily sale of bandwidth.
The advantage to carriers is that BX acts as an aggregator of smaller service providers, keeping the credit risk of these players at arms length, allowing carriers to access new streams of traffic volumes.

Carriers can judiciously win specific destinations in the spot market and increase their traffic to meet volume purchase agreements, or off-load excess capacity on specific links. Analogous to power generation, BX can assist managing the peaks and troughs in voice traffic demand without disrupting the wholesale arrangements already in place between the major carriers. |
